Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy what plans his Department has to make requesting flexible working days a right for employees in Northern Ireland.

Answer:

Following a co-design and consultation process, it is my intention to bring forward an employment rights Bill within the current Assembly mandate to ensure the employment law framework remains fit for purpose and operates effectively for businesses and workers.

Revision to the current flexible working arrangements to remove the current qualifying period before a flexible working request can be made is an issue I will be happy to consider in that context.
