Question:
To ask the Minister of Health how he plans to improve communication of the stroke reconfiguration plans.

Answer:

In line with the commitment in the Reshaping Stroke Care Action Plan, the Department has established a Hyperacute Stroke Project Board to oversee the stroke reconfiguration work. Whilst there has been a delay in commencing this work due to resource and budget constraints, I can confirm that this Board met on 24th January 2024 to agree a process to identify a preferred option for Hyperacute Stroke Care.

With agreement secured, work is currently under way to identify associated timescales and develop a communication and engagement plan to support stakeholder involvement in the process. This work will be reviewed by the Project Board when it next meets in March 2024. It is intended that stakeholders will be updated following that meeting.
