To ask the Minister of Health to detail the number of registered childminders, broken down by Health and Social Care Trust area.

Answer:

There are currently 2,047 registered childminders in Northern Ireland. The breakdown by Trust area is as follows:

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust – 234;

Northern Health and Social Care Trust – 621;

Southern Health and Social Care Trust – 347;

South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust – 416; and

Western Health and Social Care Trust – 429.
