To ask the Minister of Education for an update on plans to address the recruitment and retention crisis currently facing our early years education and childcare sector.

Answer:

Recruitment and retention issues in the early learning and childcare sector will be considered within the context of the development of the Executive Early Learning and Childcare Strategy. Conscious that it will take time to get the right model in place, I am also considering what short-term measures might be possible to address current pressures.
