Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to list each occasion between 1 April 2016 and 31 January 2024 when the Strangford ferry service did not provide a crossing; and the reason why the crossing was unable to be provided.

Answer:

During the period in question, Strangford Lough Ferry Service was scheduled to sail on 170,770 occasions, and for a variety of reasons was unable to do so on 1,979 occasions providing an overall availability of 98.85 %.

There were 1,502 missed sailings that were not within the control of DfI such as fog and industrial action, while there were 446 missed sailings that were within the control of DfI such as technical issues or maintenance.

I have asked my Officials to supply a full list of these occasions.
