Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance to detail the number of deaths in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust area relating to (i) suicide; and (ii) drug-related causes, in each of the last five years.

Answer:

The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) collates data on death registrations as collected by the General Register Office. The most recent published data for suicide, and drug-related deaths is available up to 2022.

The information requested for (i) was published in the release Suicide statistics 2022 tables. Table 7 specifically contains the number of suicides registered each year in Northern Ireland by Health and Social Care Trust.

The information requested for (ii) was published in the release Drug-Related and Drug Misuse Deaths 2012-2022 tables. Table 8a specifically contains the number of drug-related deaths registered each year by Health and Social Care Trust.
