Question:
To ask the Minister of Education what consideration has been given to expanding the Toybox programme to include providing support to newcomer children.

Answer:

The Toybox project supports the early development of Traveller and Roma children aged 0-4 across Northern Ireland, through helping children and parents engage with education.

Expansion of early years interventions currently funded by my Department (including Toybox) is being considered within the development of an Executive Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) strategy. Any extended provision will be subject to availability of the required funding.
