Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the implementation of the Podiatry Workforce Review 2019-2029.

Answer:

My Department appointed a new Chief Allied Health Professions Officer, Michelle Tennyson, in January 2024. With this appointment approval has been given to re-activate the Central Advisory Committee for Allied Health Professions (ACAHP). The first meeting is to take place in March 2024. A workforce sub-committee will be established reporting to the Central Advisory Committee for Allied Health Professions.

This sub-committee will be responsible for implementing the recommendations from the completed workforce reviews, including the Podiatry Workforce Review 2019-2029. This work will be multi-faceted, and my officials will collaborate closely across my Department on the various priorities arising from the sub-committee.
