Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on funding plans for Nurture Groups in schools.

Answer:

The Department’s budget allocation for 2024/25 is still to be confirmed and I am therefore not in a position to provide an update on the Department’s funding allocation for Nurture provision as a whole, or for Nurture Groups specifically, in the upcoming financial year.

Officials have commenced work to develop options for the Department’s future, longer-term approach to supporting Nurture provision, with a view to establishing a sustainable model that will ensure we are effectively targeting and supporting those children who are most in need of this type of intervention.
