Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether he will introduce a part-time 20mph speed limit zone outside Grange Park Primary School, Bangor.

Answer:

Part-time 20mph limits near schools are implemented based on assessments considering collision history, speed, traffic volume, infrastructure, and site constraints. Schools have been assessed in accordance with the Department’s policy ‘Road Safety at Schools’ which can be viewed at: https://www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/publications/road-safety-schools-rsppg-e070

The program to date has been rolled out in two tranches, with the most recent completed in November 2022. Over the coming weeks, I will be considering my priorities, including the potential for a further tranche of the 20mph schools programme, in the context of the funding that is currently available to my Department.
