To ask the Minister of Finance (i) for her assessment of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 evaluation, published in August 2022; and (ii) whether she intends to take any further actions following its publication.

Answer:

I have noted the findings of the review of the Gender Recognition Act 2004 which was commissioned under the previous mandate to inform policy discussion in this area. The research is a thoughtful and useful piece of work that I will consider further over the coming months. I will explore further actions in the context of available resource and competing priorities.
