To ask the Minister for Communities whether he is considering a review of the effectiveness of Sunday opening hours.

Answer:

The Department for Communities has responsibility for the Shops (Sunday Trading &c.) (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 which governs shop opening hours on Sundays. There are no plans to review the effectiveness of the Sunday opening hours set out in this legislation.
