To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the outstanding development proposal for Belfast Boys’ Model School.

Answer:

A feasibility report in respect of the additional accommodation resulting from the approval of Development Proposal 545 has been drafted and the contractor responsible for the public private partnership has returned a high-level cost estimate.

However, due to the extremely constrained capital budget, it has not been possible to commission fully costed design options for the scheme, which is currently on hold until capital funding is in place.

As I outlined in my Statement to the Assembly on Monday 12 February, I intend to bring to the Executive a significant bid for capital investment across the Schools’ Estate in 2024/25 and subsequent years.
