Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs whether he is considering introducing proposals to ban the XL Bully dog breed, similar to the ban in England and Wales.

Answer:

A proportionate and effective way forward to deal with potentially dangerous dogs is a key issue for me.

I recognise the need to move quickly in this area and I am keen to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to hear their views, so that any decision I take will be based on the best evidence available.
