Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure (i) what notification was given to those businesses negatively impacted by the road and footway closures at Bradbury Place, Belfast, on the evening of Saturday 10 February 2024; and (ii) what compensation is available for loss of business.

Answer:

I can confirm that my Department issued a contractor with a lane closure permit to facilitate the dismantling of a large crane in Bradbury Place on 2nd February 2024. This permit was in place from 10pm on Saturday 10th February to 12 noon on Sunday 11th February 2024. While giving permission to implement a lane closure rests with my Department, it is the responsibility of the contractor to notify businesses in the local area about their work and deal with any compensation issues that may arise.
