Question:
To ask the Minister of Health what learning his Department has taken from neighbouring jurisdictions regarding a clear pathway for people diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Answer:

As part of the Regional Review of Neurology Services, work has been undertaken to develop draft condition-specific pathways for those with long term neurological conditions, including motor neurone disease. This work has been informed by a comprehensive review of approaches taken elsewhere and by existing national guidelines, pathways and standards. It is intended that the completion of the pathways will be an initial priority during the implementation period of the Review.
