Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities (i) whether he intends to review the Shared Housing Programme; and (ii) what consideration he has given to updating the criteria to include all Section 75 groups.

Answer:

My Department has completed two reviews of the Shared Housing Programme, and these have resulted in 28 recommendations which have informed and increased shared housing delivery.

The Shared Housing Programme transferred to the Housing Executive on 01st February 2024, and therefore, any future reviews will be managed by the Housing Executive.

The Shared Housing Programme criteria does not consider Section 75 groups as all shared housing schemes are selected from the Social Housing Development Programme which considers and allocates social housing based on an applicant’s housing need.
