To ask the Minister for the Economy whether any craft or industrial products from Northern Ireland have been identified to which Regulation (EU) 2023/2411, if applied, would be relevant.

Answer:

I will take the Member’s six questions on Regulation (EU) 2023/2411 on the protection of geographical indications for craft and industrial products (the Regulation), referenced AQW 7531/22-27, AQW 7532/22-27, AQW 7533/22-27, AQW 7534/22-27, AQW 7660/22-27 and AQW 7661/22-27, together.

The regulation relates to a reserved policy area and sits under the Intellectual Property Office (IPO).

As Minister for the Economy, I have no responsibility for matters relating to Intellectual Property. The IPO is an executive agency sponsored by the Department for Science Innovation and Technology.
