Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether he has any plans to publish the findings of the Education and Training Inspectorate's review of youth service funding.

Answer:

The Education & Training Inspectorate (ETI) were commissioned to provide advice to the Department on the impact of the Education Authority’s (EA) funding scheme on addressing children and young people’s assessed needs.

While the final policy advice has not yet been received, ETI has presented initial findings to officials, but as this advice was commissioned to inform policy development it was not designed to be released as a full report.

That said it has been agreed that a summary of the findings and key messages will be disseminated, and my officials have committed to provide that summary to the youth sector.

My officials will work with the EA and voluntary youth sector to address the findings and recommendations.
