Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities what additional funding he has requested to help meet the assessed need identified by the Sub-Regional Stadia Programme for Soccer.

Answer:

The budget allocated for the Sub-Regional Programme is £36.2m. However, I am aware that local football club facilities are badly in need of investment and that this budget is insufficient.

I expect funding to come from a variety of sources, including match funding sources secured by footballing bodies and clubs themselves. I also intend to make a strong case for additional public funding and have already met the UK Sports Minister to discuss the needs of local football.
