Question:
To ask the Minister of Health what consideration he has given to the introduction of tougher sanctions and policies to deter the provision of illegal, unregistered childminding.

Answer:

My Department will continue to raise awareness of the risks of using unregistered childminding and draw attention to the tax and other benefits of using registered childminding.

The developing Early Education and Childcare Strategy will also assist in tackling this issue, by promoting the value of registered childminding, as well as making childcare more affordable and accessible for parents who need it.
