Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether he will continue to co-fund the Active School Travel Programme for the 2024-25 academic year.

Answer:

The current Active School Travel programme is jointly funded by the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) and the Public Health Agency (PHA) and is delivered by Sustrans.

The current Active School Travel programme contract is held by DfI and it is due to cease on 31st July 2024. The PHA remain fully committed to the programme and have secured funding to continue to co-fund the programme.
