Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether all new school buildings will include air filtration units in classrooms.

Answer:

All classrooms in new school builds are ventilated in line with BB101:2018 and will be served via Mechanical Ventilation units with Heat Recovery (MVHR), which is now standard practice.

The MVHR filtration will be compliant with EN 13779 'Ventilation and room-conditioning systems in non-residential buildings' as set out in BB101:2018, and with World Health Organisation (2005) air quality guidelines.
