Question:
To ask the Minister of Education what funding is available to schools to install air filtration units in classrooms.

Answer:

My Department does not provide specific funding for air filtration units in classrooms.

Where natural ventilation is proven to be deficient in a school the issue should be reported to the Education Authority’s Maintenance Helpdesk.

Remedial works will be undertaken to rectify the situation which may include repairs or replacement of windows or the installation of an air ventilation system.
