Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on his Department’s plans to design, develop and implement new arrangements for Key Stage 1-3 assessment.

Answer:

The Department remains committed to commencing a review and making policy recommendations regarding the purpose, nature and design of Key Stage Assessment in Northern Ireland.

Once the necessary resources have been secured, the review will consider international practice and the views of key stakeholders and practitioners to undertake a strategic assessment of the current arrangements and produce proposals and recommendations to support the development of ‘fit for purpose’ arrangements for Key Stage Assessment.
