Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy whether there will be any cost of living financial support for students from Northern Ireland who are studying outside Northern Ireland.

Answer:

Eligible students studying in the south and in Great Britain can access student support funding, including maintenance loans and grants. Prior to my taking office, the higher education student support package for academic year 2024/25 had already been determined.

I am, however, acutely aware of the impact that cost of living increases are having on students, including those who are studying away from home. I will be engaging with my officials to consider the support available in future years.
