To ask the Minister of Health, in light of the UK government’s launch of the Children and Young People Cancer Taskforce, what action he is taking to ensure children and young people in Northern Ireland with cancer have similar treatment.

Answer:

The Cancer Strategy recognises the need for a tailored service for children and young people with cancer.

My Department is developing minimum standards for treatment of Adolescents and Young Adults with cancer. This seeks to ensure that all children and young adults have access to high quality, developmentally appropriate, cancer care, including access to clinical trials.
