To ask the Minister for Communities for his assessment of how his answers to Assembly Written Questions, referring Members to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive directly, complies with paragraph 1.5(iii) of the Ministerial Code.

Answer:

This approach was adopted to ensure clarity between the Department’s policy responsibilities and Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s (NIHE) operational remit, as well as to ensure that MLAs receive accurate, timely and full responses. I consider this process to be compliant with paragraph 1.5(iii) of the Ministerial Code.

Making direct contact with the ALB will ensure that you receive the information in the shortest possible timeframe and make best use of public resources.
