Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities what plans he has to put standalone legislation in place to allow for hybrid working arrangements in local government.

Answer:

I am committed to giving councils the flexibility to hold meetings by remote or hybrid means. Standalone legislation already exists to allow for hybrid working arrangements. I will be bringing forward regulations, within as quick a timeframe as possible, using the powers in the Local Government (Meetings and Performance) Act (NI) 2021, and this work is ongoing at pace.
