Question:
To ask the Minister of Education when he will publish updated Revised Regulations and Codes of Practice in relation to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act (Northern Ireland) 2016.
Answer:
ANSWER Work continues on finalising the new Special Educational Needs (SEN) Framework, including the new SEN Regulations and the associated statutory Code of Practice. Once all the necessary approvals are in place they will be presented to the Education Committee for scrutiny and will then commence their legislative journey through the Northern Ireland Assembly. Once the SEN Regulations have been approved by the Northern Ireland Assembly, the Department will publish as soon as possible thereafter.
