Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs whether he plans to progress legislation to address derelict and dilapidated buildings.

Answer:

I am considering introducing a Dilapidation bill to the Assembly, and will receive briefing from my officials in due course. Introduction would, of course, be subject to the agreement of my Executive colleagues. The proposed Bill would provide councils with a modern and fit-for-purpose regime, including clear powers to tackle dilapidated buildings and neglected sites.
