Question:
To ask the Minister of Education what consideration he has given to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child’s concluding observations on the combined sixth and seventh periodic reports of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, published in June 2023.

Answer:

My department co-ordinates the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) reporting process on behalf of the Executive. The UNCRC Concluding Observations were circulated to all departments for information following their publication in June 2023.

My officials will be commissioning a cross-departmental assessment of the Concluding Observations in the coming weeks, and I intend to consider those that relate to DE as part of that process.
