Question:
To ask the Minister of Health to detail plans for the introduction of regional lung screening programmes.

Answer:

In line with the Cancer Strategy for Northern Ireland (2022-32), I accepted the recommendation from the UK National Screening Committee to introduce a targeted lung cancer screening programme for those at higher risk of disease.

We are at the early stages of scoping out what the requirements of this new programme for Northern Ireland will be. We will be working with colleagues across Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK to establish the resources required and the likely timeline.
