To ask the Minister of Health to detail the funding to be distributed to third-sector palliative care providers in order to meet the requirements of the Cancer Strategy.

Answer:

No funding has been distributed directly to third-sector palliative care providers in response to the Cancer Strategy.

The Cancer Charities Support Fund was launched in March 2021. This fund, which provided £10.7m to support local charities, this was financed by Department of Health, and administered by Community Foundation. Within this funding there were funds allocated to charities that provide support for patients during palliative care stage of treatment.
