To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether he will consider installing a pedestrian crossing on Stranmillis Embankment to allow for safe passage between the cycle lane and Botanic Park.

Answer:

My Department previously considered a proposal for the provision of a pedestrian crossing facility at this location. A detailed assessment carried out at that time, in 2019, concluded that the proposal did not rank highly enough on the priority list to be included in a works programme.

As 5 years has elapsed from the date of the last survey, officials will arrange for a new assessment to be carried out and write to you directly with the result.
