To ask the Minister of Finance when the findings from the Review of Defamation Law consultation will be published.

Answer:

Section 11 of the Defamation Act (NI) 2022 requires that the Department of Finance review defamation law in this jurisdiction and relevant developments elsewhere, and report its findings and recommendations to the Assembly by June 2024. To inform its review, the Department engaged with key stakeholders in 2023-24. The results of this exercise will be reflected in the June 2024 report to the Assembly.
