To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether his Department carries out an inspection after roadwork repairs are completed.

Answer:

My Department seeks to ensure that approximately 5% of all defect repairs are inspected on a routine basis to ensure the correct standards have been complied with. This ratio is considered to be proportionate to enable the quality of work and materials to be effectively monitored but the inspection frequency can also be increased if issues are identified in any particular area or with a type of work.
