To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for a breakdown of compensation paid out by his Department due to vehicle damage caused by public roads in disrepair, in each of the last five years.

Table 7.1 in the above link provides details of vehicle damage compensation paid during the last five full financial. I would, however, advise the member and other members using the above link to be cognisant of the caveats noted in respect to the information provided on roads related public liability claims.

Please also note that the figures for the 2023/2024 financial year are not currently available as the end of year financial adjustments have yet to be finalised, together with the end of year data management activities on my Department’s Claims Management System.
