Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure what consideration he has given to introducing an active travel bill.

Answer:

My Department currently has no plans to introduce an active travel bill. The Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 places challenging targets on my Department for investment in active travel and these will be set out in the Sectoral Plan for Transport in due course. The overarching Transport Strategy and transport plans currently being developed also acknowledge the importance of active travel in the sustainable transport hierarchy approach.
