To ask the Minister of Health, given the rise in melanoma cases, whether he has given consideration to banning the use of sunbeds.

Answer:

I acknowledge the concerns about the role sunbeds play in relation to the development of skin cancer and I am aware of proposals put forward in respect of a ban. The Department will give detailed consideration to these proposals when time and capacity permit.
