Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, further to the publication of the Healthy Happy Minds evaluation, when he will deliver a new primary school counselling service.

Answer:

I will take the time to assess the findings of the evaluation and the recommendations contained therein. It will also be important to consider other relevant research and feedback from stakeholders as my department develops a longer-term approach to supporting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing in education. You will also be aware the pilot ceased as the education budget does not have this budget requirement included in its baseline. Whatever is delivered must be within the budgetary resources available.
