Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 5923/22-27, what plans he has in place to expand Donard School, Banbridge.

Answer:

The Education Authority (EA) recently acquired additional land adjacent to Donard School, which will enable the current school site to be extended. This will facilitate the provision of additional accommodation to meet the increased demand for places in the school for the medium- and longer-term needs of pupils requiring special school education in the Banbridge area.

The EA is currently working with the school to deliver short-term solutions to address the need for September 2024 in the Banbridge area.
