Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail any understaffing issues currently in the (i) South Belfast DFI Roads Office; and (ii) Lisburn DFI Roads Office.

Answer:

My Department has been operating in a very difficult financial position due to years of underfunding as a result of years of Tory austerity and cuts, this has been compounded by ongoing challenges in recruitment.

Financial pressures have also restricted my Department’s ability to recruit and fill vacant posts. The current vacancy rates in the South Belfast and Lisburn section offices are 35% and 28% respectively.
