Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether his Department will introduce electronic prescribing for GPs.

Answer:

I can confirm that the Strategic Planning and Performance Group in my Department is currently leading on the ePharmacy Programme. The ePharmacy Programme includes the Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions (ETP) Project to replace the current hand-written prescription system in Northern Ireland with an electronic system. The ETP project is currently at Outline Business Case (OBC) stage and undergoing discovery work.
