Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities whether his Department has conducted an (i) external evaluation; and (ii) a value for money exercise on the JobStart Scheme.
Answer:
Both phases of the JobStart Scheme were subject to a rigorous evaluation and value for money exercise, including the development and subsequent approval of separate economic appraisals by the Department of Finance. A Post Evaluation Review of JobStart Phase 1 was conducted in July 2023, it concluded that the scheme fully achieved its objectives and performance against planned costs. The JobStart Phase 2 evaluation review is planned for completion at scheme close (end of March 2025).
