Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether any financial support is available for schools who wish to update and repair their school playground facilities.

Answer:

Whilst minor repairs to playground areas and playground equipment is a school responsibility, if a playground surface has deteriorated to the extent that it is presenting health and safety concerns, a school can submit an unavoidable minor work application to my Department or the Education Authority for repair.
