Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy whether he will develop bespoke skills action plans to support Northern Ireland’s key strategic clusters, as set out by Recommendation 24 of the Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland.

Answer:

My officials have been working with two business-led sub-groups of the Northern Ireland Skills Council to develop sector specific skills action plans for the digital and green energy sectors. I anticipate the Digital Skills Action Plan will be published in the coming weeks. The Green Energy Skills Group is working with my officials to develop an action plan, based on the findings of the ‘Skills Required to Transition to a Greener Economy’ Report, which was published in June last year and is available on my Department’s website.

Scope remains to develop further sectoral skills action plans.
