Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an indicative timescale for the funding allocation to Lurgan Model Primary School following the recent planning approval for an extension and stand-alone nursery unit.

Answer:

I welcome the increased capital budget allocation for the Department of Education for 2024-25. However, given the quantum of need in regard to Special Educational Needs, it will not meet all of my Department’s inescapable capital requirements and difficult decisions around prioritisation will be taken over the coming weeks. As part of this process, Lurgan Model Primary School will be considered alongside all of my Department’s priorities.

I will continue to make the case for increased investment in the education estate.
