To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 9597/22-27, to explain why he has no plans to update the Taxis Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.

Answer:

I have many competing priorities within my Department. A review of the Taxis Act would involve significant resources, take considerable time to conclude, and could involve major legislative change. However, I can assure you that my Department is committed to working with and helping the taxi industry address the range of issues that it faces.
