Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 9871/22-27, how many Specialist Provision in a Mainstream School are needed to deliver the required special educational needs places for September 2024 in (i) primary schools; and (ii) post-primary schools.

Answer:

As of 15 May 2024, the Education Authority (EA) has identified the need for 104 specialist provision in mainstream schools (SPiMS) classes, 66 of which are required for Primary and 38 for Post-Primary.
